January Sun

I love those mornings

When I get a few minutes of quiet

To sit and drink my coffee

Enjoying some winter sunshine

When it is so cold

The world outside is silver

But inside the golden sun

Melts my gloom

And the rainbows created

By my eyelashes

Sparkle in my eyes

I sit down for a little peace

With warm sunlight on my face

Warm coffee in my hands

And hope the rest of the day

Takes care of itself
