Sadness is a Place…
Laughter is but a moment; it is a spontaneous eruption of joy. Happiness is fleeting; it may last for awhile and then fades. Sadness lingers; it stays and tinges all it touches. And even when one is content it remains. It becomes a sort of touchstone. For all those other emotions cannot exist without it for balance. All memories and emotions are tied to the passage of time... moments that exist but will never come again. These moments are mourned, even if they are joyful, because they are gone. Sadness becomes a place where hope, love, and joy can reside.
