Carve me

Look beneath the surface

And find me underneath

I'm there 

If you look hard enough

See beyond all the points and rough edges

I seem hard

Like granite or marble

Needing sharp tools and hammer

But I'm soft

Like soapstone

A gentle touch will suffice

Smooth out my surface

Find the truth within the stone

And reveal me
