Tom Sawyer
Do you see him
This small town boy
Running
Down country roads
On bare feet
Balancing on railroad tracks
Fishing line in back pocket
Toes dipped in cold water
Trying to catch a bite
Endless summer days
Turn to star-filled nights
Trapping fireflies
In a mason jar
Life moving faster
Spinning wheels
To speeding tires
The words of youth
Scribbled on crumpled bits of paper
Hidden in floorboards
Locked behind walls
Finally set free
By the man
Who was once this boy
