I Would Touch You

I would touch you,

If it were ok to do so.

I would run my hands

Across your face,

Rest my thumb on your lips,

And trace the outline

And curve 

Of your smile.

I would hold 

My palm to your cheek,

And feel the smooth roughness

Of your skin.

I would knit my fingers 

Behind your neck,

And with gentle grasp

Pull you closer

To me.

I would touch you,

If it were only ok to do so.
