Battle Scars

Of course love hurts

It’s never easy 

When two hearts

With different lives

Find one another

They say love 

Will overcome

But these walls we build

Are so damn high and strong

We can’t get out

Let alone 

Allow someone else in

Eventually we have to take a risk

And open the door

Join each other on the battlefield

But it’s not to fight against one another

It’s to fight for each other

Finding the strength

To be hurt over and over again

Because love makes us weak

That’s why you need two hearts

One protects the other

So when one gets wounded

The pain is shared

And both carry the scars
