For a Moment

I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going and he came out of nowhere

I stopped suddenly, looked up, and for a moment he became you

I was startled, embarrassed to have almost run into him, lost in my thoughts

But he smiled and simply stepped to the side to let me pass

My eyes lingered a bit too long on his face it seemed so familiar

And as I looked into his shy blue eyes again he became you

With a polite thank you I smiled and put my head down to leave

But I couldn’t help but turn and watch as he walked away

And for a moment he became you…………
