Missing Strings

My heart has broken

Over and over

I have repaired it

Strung it back together

As well as I could

But now some
Essential pieces

Are missing

And I cannot find

A way to be whole
I am a piano
Without its strings
You can play me
To your heart's content
But there is no sound

Without the beat of my heart
There is no tune at all
