Shut My Mouth

I've been worried

That my smart mouth

And sharp tongue

Were causing you harm

Slicing beneath the skin

So I started watching my words

And locking my lips

To prevent further damage

I gave it some time

The chance to sink in

But in doing so

I tied more than my tongue

So from this moment on

I shan't shut my mouth

And I'll live with the sin
