Fire

I was a fire

Blue-flamed and hot

Fast burned I in the night

The flames consumed

All fuel to feed

And left just fading light

Within the smoke

And ash you found

A glowing ember's seed

With gentle hands

And soft caress

Upon it you did breathe

And just like that

From seed to spark

A fresh flame sprung anew

I am a fire
