I can’t hear you

La la la la la

Sticks and stones

May break my bones

But words

Will never hurt me

Except they do

They cut deeper than 

The sharpest blade

I just don’t bleed

My friends say

Let it go

In one ear

And out the other

But the problem is

I still hear it 

I don’t want to listen anymore

So I put on my headphones

Turn up the music

Tune out all the chatter

Deaf is my defence 

What's that you say?

I point to my ears

I’m sorry

I can’t hear you
