    This is absolutely exquisite in its imagery and lure of the senses into the realm of desire and unknown. Vampires have existed for centuries in folklore and from what we know are creatures of the night .. irresistible and fiery as your poem. Thank you so much for writing to the prompt ❤️

    Sounds like a lot of humans as well or perhaps they are vampires in diguise? It is so difficult to tell us apart.

    I love the progression of this piece. The way you let us see the creature sucking life, sip by sip... "Until there is nothing left/But ash" and hurt.

      Yes, they will consume and consume until there is nothing left to burn. (Playing on the Vam "pyre" of the title). :)
