One with the Music

I get songs stuck in my head

All the time

They play over and over again

Like my internal audio system

Is stuck on repeat

It becomes incessant

Until it’s all I can hear

Usually I hum along

And the song disappears

Back to the corridor of memory

From whence it emerged

But sometimes it burrows deeper

As if there is something 

About the music or lyrics

That I should give particular regard

So I sing 

And sing again 

Until the melody 

And harmony fuse

Into one cohesive whole

And I no longer hear the music 

I feel it
Become part of me
