The River

The River

The river used to run both ways

A sort of crossroads 

Both turbulent and smooth

Here the water flowed freely

But now the course is changing

So which direction do you choose?

The left

And stay with the easy flow of water

The charted path well travelled

Staying with what you know

Or 

The right

With its unknown obstacles

A stream that is difficult to follow

With no clear destination

The river is drying up

Soon there will be no water left

The tide grows urgent

So where will you go

Do you stay with the flow

Or swim against the current
