Just a Mouse

Just a mouse

That’s all I am 

Small and insignificant

A little pest 

Scratching at the walls

Hiding in the attic

Making a nest in the rafters

A wee nuisance

Gnawing on the wires

Burrowing into the insulation

So many places to hide 

For one so humble

This house

A safe haven

From the elements outside

But don’t worry

It’s not my home

I just live here
