Marks
Would you judge a man
By the marks on his skin
What stories they tell
Of a saint and his sin
The scars and battle wounds
Heart break laid bare
Moments of joy
To the depths of despair
But they’re only skin deep
It’s the ones found inside
Tattoos on the heart
Are the ones that they hide
Look past the designs
On a skin’s tapestry
The measure of a man
Are not marks you can see

~~ truth in poetry, writing from our hearts, what it's about. Thanks for this bit of rhyming goodness.
