The Sin Eater

I am the sin eater

No guilt here

Devouring doubt

Filling the pit of your stomach

With flesh and blood 

Now all that’s left 

Is gnawing emptiness

Longing to be filled by grace

All your sins are mine

Place them upon my tongue

Like communion wafers

Swallowed whole

Untasting their bitterness

I smile sweetly

To reveal my teeth
