Fallen Quiet

The world has fallen quiet

And suddenly I'm sad

Perhaps without the noise

I'm truly left alone

I have nothing

But my thoughts for company

And they are poor guests

Keeping me up late at night

When all I want to do is sleep

But everything in my head is so loud

And I can't press the mute button

Or even ask them to leave

So I stop listening close my eyes

Try to become nothing

My breathing heart beating

Until I too am fallen quiet
