Merciless

Merciless

You are cruel
And you laud your cruelty
Like a crown
You have placed
Upon your own head
You wanted the anointment
But had no reckoning of the shackles
That accompany the title
Realizing too late the crown
Is not made of gold
But of thorns
In misery's kingdom
Cruelty is felt
In the mockery of man
