Starry Eyed
I’m standing on the edge of black
A universe before the Big Bang
Just waiting for the explosion
There is an expansion and contraction
To the space
Taken up by my lungs
It speeds up and slows down
But takes no measure of time
Just the distance that has appeared
Between you and I
Within this darkness I am blind
Waiting for stars to open my eyes
