The Returning

The Returning

When all else fails
There is always water
It buoys my spirits
When they start to sink
I let go of worry
When there is water
To support me
As if my body
Remembers the womb
When the only requirement
Of my existence
Was to float
I return to water
Whenever I am weighed down
To feel weightless again

  3. I just let out the biggest of sighs. Your poem leaves me wanting to swim, to share my burdens and happy feels with water that can hug me from head to toe. What a wonderful place to go, when living gets extra heavy.

  8. Lori, I think the water is an excellent perk up and forget tool when things get mired down. I need to try it more, we have a nice pool.
