Be Quiet
I am annoyed by all this noise
There is too much going on around me
While I’m trying to listen
The sounds of construction
Voices too loud
The roar of planes and boats
Marring the quiet
Even the waves are shushing
As they crash on the shore
The whisper of the wind
Asks for reverence
As it blows through the trees
I’m trying to listen to the Earth
To hear what is says
But there are too many people
Making too much racket
For me to make sense
Of the sound
