The Age of Wonderful

This is the age of wonderful
When there is enough behind me
To look back on
And more than enough still ahead
To stay the course
There is a formidable resiliency
In a body that slows 
But still steams steadily onward
A mind that delights in everything 
That has been learned 
But maintains a wealth of curiosity 
That is as abundant as a child’s
Desiring to share and teach
Holding close the memories
That bring smiles over and over again
Even the hardships 
Because they have provided 

Amazing strength and fortitude
Realizing having enough 
Is so much more than enough
And yet still wanting more 
Of all the things that are intangible
Understanding what is most dear
Holds no price
To have both parents and children
To love and be loved 

And beloved
This is the age of wonderful
What a time to be alive
