Dear Poet

Dear Poet;

I’m too intimidated to say anything

Because you’re so remarkably you

And I’m simply me

But I have always found connection

In words of poetry

And at least we seem to have that in common

Even if you’re so much better at it than I

And really that’s what I wanted to say

Because you inspire me to get better

And maybe one day

I can be someone a little like you

For someone else whose a lot like me
