All Water and No Tide

 All Water and No Tide

The moon changes

But I do not

This inky black heart

A vast ocean on a moonless night

Completely still

Because I am all water and no tide

    1. Yes, I'm struggling to find those things that move me. Thank you.

  2. Reading this, I am struck by how vitally crucial it is to keep moving. My nephew who is an educator and one of our visitors asked me (as I am on the verge of turning 80) what I considered most important at this point in my life. I responded without much thought, forgiveness - of others, of myself. I added, taking risks - careful not to gel, staying in motion physically and emotionally. He liked what I said.

    1. I whole-heartedly agree! On both points, particularly in forgiving oneself and staying in motion. It's been so long in one place and I find myself needing to get out into the world and see it again.
