Speak as Loud as You Want
They didn’t whisper
Just held their hands
Up to their mouths
As they gossiped about me
Speaking loud enough
For me to hear
As I walked by
I didn’t understand
What it meant then
How they feared the power
Of a confident woman
Who didn’t care a whit
What they said
