The force of your demands

Gave me pause

Made me take a step back

As did your unwillingness

To give

As much as you wanted

To get

You ask me for 

Everything

But seem incensed

By a simple request

So here we stand

Both of us wanting

And neither of us

Willing to give

Only when we are equal in our 

Demands

Will anyone's needs

Be met
