Till Music is Heard No More

Till Music is Heard No More

I dance in madness
Not hallowed be
I dance foot loose
And fancy free

I dance in hunger
Not waining strife
On stilted legs
That cling to life

I dance in sorrow
Not pleasures feigned
Never released
Lest found again

I dance in darkness
Not seeking light
Eclipsing sun
With eyes shut tight

I dance as one
Not seen before
I dance till music
Is heard no more

    1. Thank you! I was very happy it ended up where it did as the words seemed to dance themselves out of nowhere!

  6. OH! I will read this again and again as I contemplate being grateful for all the dimensions life brings. It's not that easy to keep dancing.

  8. The repetition in this poem is so effective in providing a beat to your silent dance, Lori. I love the rhythm of this piece and the footloose defiance!
