I desperately
Wanted to talk to you
About the silliest thing
            I cut my hair
For the first time
In over a year
And I cried
At my reflection
My comely hair
That had taken so long to grow
            Was cut short
It wasn't what I wanted
Nor what I asked for
And I wanted to tell you
So you could remind me
That it will grow back

            It just takes time
But it's been so long
Since we talked
