Sleeping Siren

Sleeping Siren

The siren slipped
Away from the sea
Warm sunlight reflecting
On the water
Above her head
She was a goldfish
Rare orange
In a blue world
She slept deeply
Through the heat of the day
Unaware
That the thin fabric
Covering her body
Was not enough
To hide her pert breasts
Or the curve of her legs
Oblivious
To the demands
Of her form
She never dreamed
How tiring
Walking away
Could be

  2. I was completely taken by the poem alone, by the truth you spilled in every line--one never knows how things will go until things are done. After seeing the inspiring image, I love the poem even more. Perfect interpretation!
