Lights

Lights

I look into the night sky
And fall in love with the stars
Each one its own beacon
Shining in the darkness
And I find the one
That calls out to me
The one I know
Will guide me to you
That is the one I follow
For it lights the way home

  7. A stunning star of a poem, Lori! Falling in love with stars is just how I feel when I look up at the night sky; that sensation of spinning and dropping never fails to surprise me. I also love the thought that there is a star for each of us.

    1. I am the same. I love a clear night sky. I always find there is one star that flickers in a way that is different to the others and that's the one that grabs my attention.

    1. Thank you! I wish I did but I only paint with words. This is a copyright free image that I found. I try to find ones that match what I'm trying to say. I take the occasional photograph though.

  9. Your wonderful, poem here put me in touch with the wilderness night sky Lori. When viewed away from the ambient light distortion and smog of the cities, it is absolutely mind boggling. It is the lightshow of infinity. It’s Sagan’s billions and billions. It is the place to go where no one has gone before...

    1. My favourite place to star gaze is at the cottage. Without the light pollution of the city you realize just how many stars there are. To boldly go...
