Lights
I look into the night sky
And fall in love with the stars
Each one its own beacon
Shining in the darkness
And I find the one
That calls out to me
The one I know
Will guide me to you
That is the one I follow
For it lights the way home

Oh this is so lovely. My favourite from today!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I truly appreciate that! :)
DeleteYes this is a beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! :)
DeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteI love the notion that we all might have an individual star to guide us..beautiful..
I think there are enough stars that it might be possible! :) Thank you!
DeleteI have never been chosen by one. How lucky the narrator of this poem! Delightful.
ReplyDeleteThank you very kindly! :)
DeleteLooking up at a clear night sky full of stars gives us a tiny clue of who and what we are, it is both beautiful and awesome.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and awesome is a perfect way to describe it. Thank you! :)
DeleteThis is so beautiful. A true, shiny friend in the hours of loneliness. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you. That's a great way of looking at it.
DeleteA stunning star of a poem, Lori! Falling in love with stars is just how I feel when I look up at the night sky; that sensation of spinning and dropping never fails to surprise me. I also love the thought that there is a star for each of us.
ReplyDeleteI am the same. I love a clear night sky. I always find there is one star that flickers in a way that is different to the others and that's the one that grabs my attention.
DeleteSo beautiful, Lori, did you do the painting? Love it.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I wish I did but I only paint with words. This is a copyright free image that I found. I try to find ones that match what I'm trying to say. I take the occasional photograph though.
DeleteYour wonderful, poem here put me in touch with the wilderness night sky Lori. When viewed away from the ambient light distortion and smog of the cities, it is absolutely mind boggling. It is the lightshow of infinity. It’s Sagan’s billions and billions. It is the place to go where no one has gone before...
ReplyDeleteMy favourite place to star gaze is at the cottage. Without the light pollution of the city you realize just how many stars there are. To boldly go...
DeleteSweet!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
